There is no doubt in my mind why I wanted to learn martial arts. The main reason, not just being a good fighter, it was about having a better life. There were times in my life, I did not feel safe and I got sick of that feeling and did something about it. Never forget, you've got an amazing opportunity today with online martial arts training. I really wish I had the Internet back when I was younger, because it would have saved me a lot of time.
Unfortunately, I had to deal with bullies just like other kids, but I also had to deal with others who were set on trying to kill me and these were some teens, who had violent home lives. I honestly believe young men and women today have something that back then, I did not and that was the Internet. I had to buy books out of the magazine called Inside kung fu back in the mid 80's, can you believe how long ago that was? I knew I wanted a better existence then living in fear and I was going to be a martial artist.
The first form of martial arts that I took as a young boy was karate, but I never felt that the training was adequate to really protect me from an attack. In the mid-80s, I started watching Bruce Lee films and immediately fell in love with kung fu. I noticed back then that kung fu was more advantageous than karate, but then that's my own personal humble opinion.
I did end up learning Wing Chun and another form of kung fu, that was not as well known. Later I became good friends with a young fellow who was a black belt and he would teach me even more. Through sparring him almost on a daily basis, I started noticing what worked and what did not work. I could see why Bruce Lee decided to develop his own style, because he even noticed that what he had learned could be improved upon.
Can online martial arts training ever be better than personal training? Probably not, but learning online is better than not learning anything at all. With the Internet there is a distinct advantage with being able to quickly find a style that will work for you. You have to ask yourself if you want to learn martial arts very quickly or complete long-term training. If you are wanting to know certain techniques right now, there is no better place to learn than the Internet. I would encourage anyone to carefully search for deadly street fighting techniques online by an expert.
The one thing I would tell anyone interested in learning the martial arts, is to learn Indian ground fighting. More times than not, I found myself on the ground and it was a good thing that I knew how to fight effectively on the ground. I've seen one street fight after another where a guy ends up on the ground with no skills and he's hauled off in an ambulance. To master the techniques of dirty street fighting and to practice being aware of your surroundings, will give you a great advantage over any attacker.
Mark H. Smith has been in the martial arts for over 20 years and he wants to reveal his quick secrets to winning street fights. Fancy moves won't save you on the streets, so find out what works today over at: http://www.streetfightingtechniques.org
